Hebe, the health and beauty chain owned by Jeronimo Martins, opened 30 new stores in 2017, taking the total to 182, according to the company's preliminary trading statement for the full year. There was also one closure, so Hebe’s network increased by a net of 29 units last year. More than half of the openings (16) came in the fourth quarter.
Hebe’s total trading space increased to 43,052 m2 (+21%) at the end of 2017.
On the sales front, Hebe recorded a 35.6% jump in sales revenues to €166m (+32.2% at constant exchange rate), delivering well on an improved value proposition, Jeronimo Martins said. In the fourth quarter alone, the chain generated sales revenues of €51m, up by 34.6% (+30.2% at constant exchange rate).
