The latter deal allowed the company, which had been operating in the low-price segment of the country’s footwear market, to take a strong position in the market's premium segment, the group said.
In 2016, Zenden Group added 155 stores net, growing its chain in Russia to 363 locations covering a total retail area of 80,630 m2 as of 31 December 2016.
Interestingly, Zenden Group also wants to develop food marketplaces in Russia, following the example of the restaurant holding Ginza, the group’s president, Andrey Pavlov, told Rambler News Service (RNS). The company plans to launch its first marketplace in Pyatigorsk (Stavropol Territory) this summer. It intends to eventually introduce this format to other Russian cities.
