The retail market of new spare parts, consumables and accessories in Poland is highly fragmented. Products are widely available not only from specialist stores but also from car repair shops. Furthermore, there are numerous replacement products available for a vast majority of spare parts, in particular consumables and accessories. The wide choice and variety of goods fuels competition among suppliers and retailers. However, it should be borne in mind that a large proportion of parts are purchased and installed in a single place, either for the reason of convenience to a customer or because of warranty requirements or an insufficient offering in a given area. The last of these factors can be particularly seen in the case of authorised repairers which are practically absent outside of the major cities.
